The Nokia N85 Phone All News

The top end N Series range of Nokia mobile phones has now expanded further to included a new multimedia device called the Nokia N85, this new handset is set to run alongside the recently launched Nokia whilst offering a slightly different feature pack.

Initially the new Nokia N85 has been made available as a SIM free mobile phone, this means that consumers will not have to sign up to a lengthy pay monthly contract deal or attempt to pass any UK network credit checks, consumers can simply buy the handset out right and use their existing card to retain their current mobile number, account details and any stored contacts on the SIM.

The Nokia N85 offers a stunning 5 mega pixel camera complete with Carl Ziess options that combine with auto focus, red eye reduction, LED flash and digital Zoom to capture images in stunning details. DVD quality video capture at a smooth 30 fps makes shooting and capturing smooth, clear video, ready to upload or share in an instant. Connect to the Nokia ovi service and share photos and video with friends instantly or send them via picture messaging (MMS) or Email.

The Nokia Minimap web browser displays pages as seen on standard PCs and Laptops, with Flash video support, allowing users to watch their favourite movie clips on line. WiFi support makes it easy to connect to wireless broadband hot spots found around most UK towns cities for ever faster connectivity.

Build Quality:
When it comes to slider phones, people, people really want to know about the quality of the slider. The Nokia N85 ‘s Slider can be best described as tight. You can feel the spring pulling the front up by the time you are halfway up. The quality of the slider is not an issue with the Nokia N85.
As for the rest of the phone, it feels like the materials used were pretty good. I don’t hear any creaking, rattling, or notice any loose parts when handling pocket able.

Display:
The front of the Nokia N85 is flat and glossy showing a lot of reflection when the display is off. When it is on, we see a bright 2.6 inch display with the resolution of 240x320. what’s unique with the Nokia N85 is that it is the first N Series phone with an OLED display. The improvement in brightness, sharpness, and color accuracy is very visible over the older backlit. You really have to see it in people that rely on images online.

Camera:
Lens cover. The 5 mega pixel camera on the Nokia N85 is protected by a lens cover. The cover slides up and down flawlessly. I don’t want to talk about the camera functions and the way it works yet because that will be in the second part of the review.

Battery Life:
The Nokia N85 includes a BL 4D 1200 mAh battery like the Nokia N85 mini, but it’s not easily accessible. You can replace the battery by using torx screwdriver if you really need to. The N85 can be charged via the micro USB port or the 2mm charging connector at the bottom.

Price: $449.00
