Mr. Singh said Washington and Delhi had decided to "accelerate the deepening of ties to work as equal partners in a strategic relationship".He said he and Mr Obama had agreed protectionism was detrimental for both countries, and that India was not in the business of stealing American jobs.
Both sides would expand co-operation on space, civil, nuclear and defense matters, he added. 

Mr Obama announced an initiative between Washington and Delhi to improve security at airports, ports and borders.

New Delhi, India The relationship between the United States and India is "stronger, deeper and broader" than ever before, U.S.A. President Barack Obama said Monday at a joint news conference with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in India's capital, New Delhi.

The opportunities for cooperation between the nations will only grow as India gains economic power, Obama said.

"We make some of the best products in the world and we want to sell them to a growing Indian market," Obama said.

At the same time, those economic exchanges offer Indians the opportunity to build their businesses as well, he said, citing solar technology as an example for the potential to create jobs in the United States and India.

Trade and investment between the United States and India has helped to expand opportunities to build new markets and create jobs for both nations, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner wrote in an editorial Monday for India’s Hindustan Times.

Trade and investment between the two nations is “flourishing” across an array of sectors, he said, citing data showing that from 2004-2009, Indian exports to the U.S. grew by almost 40% and American exports to India rose by nearly 170%. 

Mr. Obama said- India and Pakistan should talk again for peace/cool between them.
